Damn. I actually have motivation now.

And now, I will offer my rebuttals to these “rules”

1) When you’ve tried for so many things in the past and have failed every time, one would be reluctant to keep pursuing any sort of goal when the outcome is most likely to be negative.

2) I’m gonna go on the assumption that this “rule” is about pursuing a relationship with someone else, which ties this to my previous rebuttal. When one has been turned down (failed) time and time again, said person would be hesitant to keep asking when history has shown that the answer has always been “no”. This would lead one to the conclusion that all future answers will follow the same pattern.

3) Maybe some people are content with where they are or have at least accepted their lot in life. Maybe they’re not supposed to be successful or perhaps the constant pursuit of success has just become too tiresome after countless failures.
